My basket floweth over

This weekend I went to my first Knitting Convention with Knotty Historian and another friendly knitting companion. I learned that knitters can sometimes be a little... intense about their craft, you can make yarn out of anything - even your pet hair, and the knitted vintage looking lingerie is something every knitter should make in their lifetime. I bought more yarn that I have ever owned in my life:

While I'm on a knitting topic, I have some finished pieces:
Fetching with an extra cable at the base and at the end. (they're drying in this pic):

My Rainbow Scarf (full and detail), made lovingly in Schafer yarn's Judy Garland - a birthday gift from knotty:

And finally, the soaking of Hot Head - a new hat for Mr. Wonderful. You'll get the full photo once its dry

  1. I'm very glad we were able to go together. As soon as I got home Dan asked me if I took pictures, and I suddenly realized I'd forgotten.

I'm seriously jealous of all your great new yarn, and such deals! I like what I got, but I have to finish a couple more projects before I start my sweater. Looks like you're also finishing up some stuff before you dive into that bounty of yours—you found a wonderful use for the rainbow yarn.

  2. Wow, pretty cool!! Can you make me something warm? My room is always 60 degrees at night. Stupid California windows without insulation!

(I should stop complaining about the weather since it really doesn't bother me that much... my dad e-mailed to tell me it was 20 degrees the other day back East and they had a 3 inch thick ice storm followed two days later by 6 inches of snow, YUCK.)
