It's been a good week.

In the last two days I found out that I:

1. will receive my TA sabbatical in Summer 2009 - this will pay me as if I was TAing but w/o the teaching duties. More importantly, it will allow me to pay my expenses here while I try to hop off on a research trip.

2. I have just been accepted into the UC Davis Tasting Histories Conference to give a talk about the World History Through Food class that I co-taught this summer. The World History seminar was brutal, but World History has give back to me in a way I never expected and will always be grateful for.

3. I managed to do 3 consecutive turns in ballet on each side (this has taken me 3 years to be able to do).

Wow, suddenly, life feels really, really good.
