Ok, I'll keep the personal references to a minimum, but I'm not toning down my swearing, at least not completely. (for non home-based readers, some of our dept students' blogs were found and there was much closing down of blogs. I'm staying up, just somewhat censored).
French is hard. My graduate intensive French class is hard. It's easier from French tutoring b/c it's in English, not French, but I still have that "It's 10:40 in the morning and man I could use a some scotch." And I'm not even a big hard alcohol person. This is way beyond wine or beer - straight to the straight up. I have to drink tea and not coffee b/c the anxiety and the caffeine makes me a bit jittery.
I'm so glad I'm taking this class. I'm so glad I have the opportunity to take this class. It's hard and embarrassing and takes a lot of the wind out of your sails.
But I need to be able to read easily and (somewhat) quickly in French. I feel like an idiot, but its good to be humbled.
Ok, the pause is over, we're back to work, and hopefully I'll be able to remember what "souvent" means and not have to look it up for the millionth time. (It's the little stupid words I can't seem to remember).
