I'm actually feeling a lot better this weekend... about everything pretty much. Nonetheless, I wanted to share a personal favourite of frustrated creative genius. I give you Alfred Dürer's "Melancholia":


Between the look of impotance and frustration and the abandoned tools of her trade, this is a mirror image of what I look like when I sit down to write. Plopped down in my ass groove on my couch, staring in to my computer, surrounded by books, notes, notebooks, pencils, and empty cups of coffee.

I really don't want to write my research proposal. I'm going to go into the grad lab and hope that it inspires me a bit more.
