My mom and Charlie came back from their vacation last night to find their house flooded. The water tank burst, pumping aprox. 600 gallons of water through the house. Three ceilings collapsed, there is mold growth everywhere, and just about anything on the floor has been ruined. In addition to the physical damage to the house, all of my mom's paintings and art supplies have been destroyed. Nothing is salvageable. They'll be staying with friends while they decide what course to take.
I wish I could do something to help. At this point they have to decide whether to stay at Superstition Mountain, stay in the house, stay in AZ at all... I can tell my mom is in shock and it will be a while until they make any sort of definite decision. Either way, it is a horrible thing to have happened.
